Project overview

Lecahmed Pharmacy & Diagnostics Ltd. is a pharmacy & diagnostics provider (based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria) supplying pharmaceutical products and diagnostics services. They wanted to have a robust online presence by launching an e-commerce platform (web app) to sell their pharmacy products. Key to the system was keeping the product catalog up to date and ensuring orders are processed efficiently. To do this, the web app needed to integrate with the iRecplus API (for product listings and orders). On the back-end, there’s an Admin Dashboard connected to iRecplus, which handles business functions (inventory, stock management, order tracking etc.).

Client challenges & requirements

Here are some of the major issues Lecahmed was trying to solve:

  • Up-to-date product listing: They had a wide variety of pharmacy products; keeping product info current (stock, pricing, descriptions) manually is tedious and error-prone.
  • Order synchronization: Orders placed on the website needed to flow correctly into their existing systems (so that fulfillment, inventory decrements, etc., would reflect in real time).
  • Separation of concerns/maintainability: They needed an admin dashboard that gives control over inventory, order statuses, etc., without manual interventions.
  • Unified business operations: Pharmacy operations often include diagnostics, in-store sales, etc. The client needed a system that could scale beyond just the web storefront.
  • Ease of use / UX: For both customers (shop-front) and staff (admin side).

Project solution

Here’s how we addressed those requirements:

  • Front-end Web App for Customers: We built a responsive e-commerce web app where customers can browse pharmacy products (by category, search, filters), view product details, add to cart, place orders, etc
  • Admin Dashboard: This sits on top of iRecplus. A little more about iRecplus: iRecplus is a suite of business app modules that cover things like CRM, e-commerce, accounting, inventory, point of sale, project management, CMS, data automation, etc. The dashboard allows Lecahmed’s internal staff to monitor orders (new, in progress, delivered, etc.) Track inventory and stock levels, add or adjust product metadata if needed (though core product info is synced via iRequest), generate sales reports and analytics to understand sales trends, manage categories, pricing, promotions, etc.
  • Seamless flow & real-time sync: The integration ensures minimal discrepancies between what customers see online and internal stock, helping avoid poor UX (e.g. customers ordering items out of stock).
  • Scalable structure: Built in a modular way so that new features (e.g., diagnostics booking or in-store pickup) could be added without huge rewrites.

Result and impacts

  • Improved efficiency: Lecahmed no longer needs to manually update product listings in multiple places, reducing error rates & freeing up staff time.
  • Better customer experience: Customers see accurate product availability and can place orders smoothly; this enhances trust and reduces cancellations or order disputes.
  • Increased sales: Having an online storefront opens up to customers beyond physical reach, increasing order volume.
  • Operational visibility: With dashboards & reporting, Lecahmed can see trends in product demand, identify slow movers, and manage stock proactively, which reduces overstock/stockouts.
  • Scalability and business growth support: The system is now better equipped to introduce new services (diagnostics, new product lines, etc.) with minimal friction.
